Bouchercon 2014 celebrates a return to the California beach, and the Murder at the Beach anthology serves up some murder and mayhem with your sand, while benefitting the Long Beach Public Library Foundation. (You'll never think of sun, sand, or picnics the same way again.)

  • Downtown Los Angeles, including LA Live and filming locations very familiar to moviegoers
  • The Hollywood sign
  • Hollywood, including The Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Adobe Theatre (home of the Academy Awards), Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood & Highland Center and Madame Tussaud's
  • Lunch at The Farmer's Market, including time to browse at The Grove

Cruise Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) and spend time in some of its most memorable locations. You'll visit the iconic Queen Mary 1, a floating hotel and entertainment center, tour the grand homes of the CEOs of America's corporate elite, and ride with the surfers in "Surf City USA," Huntington Beach. You'll spend free time in the lovely beach community of Seal Beach and the artist's enclave of Laguna Beach. All along the way, you'll experience the breathtaking scenery of the Southern California coast.

Haunted Encounters Tour on the Queen Mary

With such a varied and intriguing past it's not surprising that the Queen Mary has been voted one of the Top 10 Most Haunted Places in America by Time Magazine. Get a detailed overview of the Queen Mary's most haunted areas and paranormal hotspots. Explore the ship inside and out and hear stories about the ship's most famous reported apparitions. Among the ghosts reportedly still hanging around are a sailor who died in the ship's engine room, a "lady in white," and children who drowned in the ship's pool.
